Free Shakespeare in Griffith Park rolls out again this summer beginning this Thursday through Sunday, June 25-28 in a production of Romeo and Juliet by the Independent Shakespeare Company. Pack your picnic baskets and wine, dig out the beach chairs and blankets, and head over to the Old Zoo in Griffith Park for a sumptuous evening under the stars.
Adolescent bliss spins out of control in this imaginative and surprising staging of the most famous love story ever told. This new adaptation incorporates an original rock score and design that is equal parts fairy tale and punk. Live music and athletic performances create a Romeo and Juliet that explodes off the Griffith Park stage and features Erika Soto and Nikhil Pai as the star-crossed lovers.
The free performances are staged every Thursday through Sunday at 7 pm throughout the summer.
