Get Behind the Gates of Howard Hughes’ Hancock Park Home

The 1926 Spanish Colonial once owned by Howard Hughes that sits abreast the Wilshire Country Club has always been intriguing – if only one could go beyond the high hedges and wooden gate to snoop around.

Gardenista, the very versatile blog about everything exterior for home and garden, recently featured the Muirfield Road home that Howard Hughes purchased in 1929 for a mere $115,000, and which was recently updated by garden designer Kathleen Ferguson for current owners Ash and Niroupa Shah.

“New Glamor for Old Hollywood: A Visit to Howard Hughes’ Garden” by Michelle Slatalla gives us a peak into the corners of the 3/4 acre property in all its lovely, bronze-tinged and cobblestoned glory.
