Over the weekend, the small but prodigious local charity, NGA, raised more than $100,000 at its annual fundraiser to benefit seven local non-profits that help people in need. Held the Wilshire Country Club, thanks to sponsorship by Tom Kneafsey, the golf themed ‘Partee’ featured 165 guests attired in “country club kitsch.”
Congratulations to event Co-Chairs Beverly Brown, Shelagh Callahan, Mary Jaworski, Kathleen Macomber, Megan Derry and Kiel FitzGerald!
“We broke all our fundraising records,” Kiel Fitzgerald told the Buzz. “Steve Kazanjian, husband of NGA member Olivia, was our Auctioneer. Olivia and Steve worked together and raised over $51,000 in our Live and Fund-A-Need – double what we raised last year!”
Funds raised will be directed to purchase new clothing, linens, school uniforms, and personal care items for Alexandria House, Aviva, Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children, Imagine LA, McIntyre House, Operation School Bell (Assistance League of Los Angeles) and Uplift Family Services at Hollygrove.
NGA — Needlework Guild of Hancock Park – is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity that welcomes interested members. Visit their website for more information.
