My admiration for casting director Allison Jones has completely revolved around the great work-place she created on North Larchmont Boulevard a few years ago when she remodeled an old bungalow and turned it into an inviting space for her co-workers and guests to think creatively as they work to get into character and pitch themselves for golden box office roles.
This woman is smart. She moved in on North Larchmont Boulevard before Cafe Gratitude, Coffee + Food and Shape House. Before the medians were even a glimmer in community leaders’ eyes. Jones can obviously spot and exploit trends. A brilliant property owner to you and I…a ‘nerd hunter’ to iconic magazine The New Yorker.
The story of casting director Allison Jones is told in the April 6 issue of The New Yorker – featured in a lengthy article by writer Stephen Rodrick.  Jones is worth getting to know as she is responsible for assembling some of the greatest ensembles in recent TV and Film history. She cast the long-running TV show ‘The Office’; and popular movie comedies like ‘Knocked Up’, ‘Bridesmaids’ and the upcoming ‘Ghostbusters’ remake.
