Local Film Producer Anne White’s Doc in Toronto Film Festival

Congratulations to former tennis pro and now film producer Anne White,  whose first feature “Love Means Zero,” about legendary tennis coach Nick Bollettieri, has been selected by the Toronto Film Festival to be part of the festival’s documentary slate.

“We are so excited to have been selected to be one of 25 documentaries to be featured at Toronto this year,” said White. The largest film festival in North America, Toronto which runs from September 7-17, 2017, has trimmed back its slate of documentaries this year, making the selection all the more thrilling for first-timer White and her producing partner Jill Mazursky.

Funded by Showtime and directed by Jason Kohn (Manda Bala), “Love Means Zero,” is a passion project for White, who left home at the age of 15 to accept a scholarship to train with Bollettieri. She was joined by dozens of other tennis legends trained under Bollettieri, including Jim Courier, Andre Agassi and Monica Seles.

After decades away from tennis, White reconnected with her old coach on a visit several years ago to see her parents, who live nearby. After a tour of her former tennis camp, now IMG Academy, White was convinced a movie had to be made telling the how Bolletteiri transformed the game of tennis and how young players are trained.

“Nick changed my life,” said White. “He gave me my professional career and continues to inspire me.”

Bollettieri, who just celebrated is 86th birthday, recently spoke at the Los Angeles Tennis Club, where Anne is an honorary member and teaches.
