The Original Farmers Market, Los Angeles’s favorite grocery spot since 1934, has been a trusted place for families to shop and dine for generations, and its Merchant of the Month program is the perfect way to continue celebrating small businesses and the rich history of the landmark. Each month throughout the year, a different vendor will feature a special offering, with deals on everything from meats and spices to produce and sweets.

86 years young, Magee’s Nuts is one of the original Market merchants, and the business continues to delight customers with the freshest, most delicious nuts and nut butters in Los Angeles. Stop by Stall 218 and you may be helped by Dwayne Call, a member of the Magee family, or by long-admired employee Doris Perez, who has worked at the Market for more than five decades and brings the friendliest of smiles and stories. Given its unique offerings and consistency, it should come as no surprise that the shop has famous friends! Upon visiting, the Beatles had a “fab” experience and left a thank you note, while President Eisenhower was mesmerized by the nut butter machine churning out fresh peanut butter. The former President was right to be amazed; the original machine still churns out the smoothest, tastiest all-natural nut butters, which are a healthier alternative to the processed varieties at larger retail stores. Browse the Magee’s bins and choose from peanuts, hazelnuts, cashews, walnuts, and more. The nut butters and nuts make for a nutritious snack, and customers can mix-and-match assorted nuts in a charming goodie box or bag.
All month long, shoppers who spend $30 or more will receive a free, 8oz bag of their signature Fancy Mix. This offer expires on March 31 but be sure to stay tuned for our next featured Merchant of the Month in April!
