While The Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax has always been the perfect grocery shopping destination, the new Merchant of the Month program is sure to become the talk of the neighborhood. All through 2019, a different vendor will offer a special promotion each month, including deals on everything from pastries and produce to meats and marinades, for shoppers who make use of the Market’s bountiful offerings. With the Market celebrating 85 years of business this summer, this new program is the perfect way to get in on the celebration.

This month’s spotlight is on Monsieur Marcel Gourmet Market, a true European-inspired specialty food emporium offering a thoughtfully curated collection of the finest imported and domestic gourmet foods, wines, cheeses, charcuterie, chocolates and much more. Owned by husband and wife team Stephane and Katy Strouk, Monsieur Marcel Gourmet Market is joined by sister outposts Monsieur Marcel Seafood Market and Monsieur Marcel Bistro, all three of which are conveniently located on the eastside of the Market.

Since 1993, the Strouks have been dedicated to bringing the French artisanal food and culinary experience to Los Angeles epicures, leading them to open a gourmet shop at the Market where customers could find a taste of France and beyond with an unparalleled selection of unique and hard-to-find specialty items.

All month long, shoppers who spend $25 or more on cheese or charcuterie at Monsieur Marcel Gourmet Market receive a free 5 oz. container of their signature housemade artisanal chutney! This offer expires on September 30th but stay tuned for a new Merchant of the Month in October!
