The 100 North block of Irving Boulevard (between Beverly and 1st) is having a block wide yard sale this Saturday, June 1st, from 9am-3pm. A portion of the proceeds will to go Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) on behalf of their neighbor, Oliver Thomas.

Four-year-old Oliver has been battling congenital heart defects since birth. His tight knit group of neighbors have come together to offer support – both financial and emotional – to Oliver and his parents, Geoff and Jennifer. The block did something similar three years ago, raising approximately $12,000 to help defray some of the family’s enormous medical expense.
The 100 North block of Irving  is quite active, organized and social. They have progressive holiday dinners, summer block parties… and yard sales. According to neighbor, Jill Galloway, they hope to make this huge block-wide yard sale an annual event as an opportunity to Spring clean homes/garages, build community, welcome newer neighbors and make a little pocket money.
This year, Oliver’s neighbors are focused on surpassing what they have raised in the past. So the event will be special…including appearances by the Brasil Kiss coffee truck (arriving early for everyone’s caffeine fix) and the Currywurst truck (arriving for lunch with a big supply of delicious gourmet hot dogs for lunch).
10% of all sales will go to CHLA in support of the Oliver Thomas Heart Fund. This is a special cause – do stop by to support Oliver, his parents and their Irving neighbors!
