It’s time for spring cleaning! And if you have bulky items to get rid of, the Los Angeles Department of Sanitation has two good options:
First, as (we hope) most people know, you can schedule a curbside bulky item pickup by calling the LACitySan 24-hour Customer Care Center at 1-800-773-2489. You can also use the MyLA311 app or visit the department’s website at lacitysan.org. One of their friendly Customer Care agents will let you know when to place the item by the curb and when it will be picked up.
A second option, however, if you have things you want to get rid of more quickly without putting them on the curb, is to bring your bulky items to one of five locations around the city this Saturday, May 20th, during the second of several free bulky item drop-off days scheduled this year:
If you still have questions, or want to learn more about bulky item disposal, see https://www.lacitysan.org/san/faces/home/portal/s-lsh-wwd/s-lsh-wwd-s/s-lsh-wwd-s-c/s-lsh-wwd-s-c-bic.
And, finally, please note that appliances, hazardous waste, electronic waste, and industrial waste cannot be accepted at the bulky item drop-offs. Contact the LA CitySan Customer Care Center, at the number above, for disposal information for those kinds of cast-offs. Also, note that the city’s next e-waste collection event will be held on Saturday, June 10th at South Park Recreation Center located at 345 E. 51st Street, Los Angeles. The entire used oil and electronic waste collection schedule will be posted soon at http://www.lacitysan.org/events.
