Back in 2011, the Buzz mentioned briefly that the distinctive home of the original Snow White voice actress, Adriana Caselotti, was for sale at 201 S. Larchmont Blvd.  Most of us were unable to grab that particular piece of movie history, but Buzz reader Laura Cohen pointed out recently that another piece of Caselotti memorabilia, a signed Snow White publicity photo, is now up for sale through the Bonham’s auction company.
The photo is inscribed, “Love to Eli with love / Voice of Snow White / Adriana Caselotti,” and is matted and framed. It measures 17 x 15 x 2 in., including frame; the photo itself, within the mat, measures 8 x 10.25 in.  It’s valued at $100-$150…and bidding closes on June 5.
Caselotti’s Larchmont Blvd. house was a local landmark for many years.  Built for her in 1976, it featured a number of fairy-tale style bridges and wishing-well structures in the front yard.  Those whimsical elements have been removed since the house was sold, but they can still be seen in old real estate photos and a charming 1992 video tour and interview with Caselotti.  She lived in the house until her death in 1997.
