If you’ve got holiday (or other) events coming up in the next few weeks or months, and are wondering what to do for entertainment, look no further than our collective back yard.  The Encroachments is a power trio specializing in rousing classic rock, blues and R&B…and they’re well known locally to those who have attended the Larchmont Village Neighborhood Association’s block party in the last two years.

But the fame of these seasoned musicians extends far beyond the immediate neighborhood.  Individually, the Enchroachments are:

Bruce Walker – Drummer and vocals. Bruce’s forte is drumming, but he also sings what he calls “fun dance songs.” His drumming background includes road tours, live concerts, club dates, recording sessions, movie scores and some teaching. In his earlier years, he performed with the Los Angeles City College Jazz Ensemble, West Los Angeles College Jazz Ensemble, El Camino College Jazz Ensemble, Chapman College Jazz Ensemble and the Pepperdine University Jazz Ensemble. Bruce also spent nearly 20 years playing the Los Angeles rock, blues, R&B and jazz club circuit, from the late 1970s to the early 1990s, and worked or traveled with such diverse headliners such as Chuck Berry, Brenton Wood, Don Julian, The Blazers and the High Plainsman.

Debby Cannon – Lead singer and bassist.  Debby is a natural musician, who has been performing professionally since the age of 13.  She was a solo recording artist for A & M Records and has toured the world as a backup singer for numerous well-known acts. Debby has also been featured live and on record with such artists as Todd Rungren and Michael Des Barres.  And she led her own band called “Debby Cannon and the Cannonballs,” which worked extensively on the San Fernando club circuit from the late ’80s into the 2000s. She can also be heard on many film and television themes, and continues to write songs herself and with other talented musicians.

Steve Fister – Guitar.  Steve is a consummate professional, plays Universum Guitars, and has had an incredible career performing with artists such as John Kay of Steppenwolf, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot, Pat Travers and many more.  Steve also tours with his own group, writes music, produces and has personally recorded more than 10 solo albums and EPs.  He’s creative and inventive, and will amaze you with his musicianship, technique and style.

Together, the Encroachments will bring you favorites from ZZ Top to Cream, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and more.  Set lists include hits such as Pride and Joy, Bus/Jesus, Mustang Sally, What I Like About You, Chile con Carne/Thrill is Gone, Gold Sweat, Superstition, One Way Out and Land of 1,000 Dances…or Down Home Blues, Them Changes, Shakey Ground, Dock of the Bay, White Room, Crossroads, Roll Over Beethoven, La Grange, and What’d I Say.
