If you live near La Brea, Fairfax, Beverly, or San Vicente, you’ve probably run into Senior Lead Officer Perry Jones. He is a regular fixture in the Mid-City West area, having served for the LAPD for 24 years, and 20 years as a Senior Lead Officer in the Wilshire Division.

Jones was raised in the Pico/Fairfax area and attended grade school at Crescent Heights Elementary, before moving to Westchester as a teenager. He’s a big-time basketball fan – for the Oklahoma City Thunder of all teams! – and has been in charge of the Wilshire Division Junior Cadets program with its 80 active members for some 15 years.
On the day we met Jones he showed off the spanking new V6 Ford Explorer he was driving for the first time that day. “It has quite a lot of kick,” he informed the Buzz, as well as a new state-of-the art touch screen computer inside.

Officer Perry Jones can be reached directly on his cell at 213-793-0782 or via email at [email protected]. Don’t forget to also check out the Wilshire Division’s new website at lapdwilshire.com, and sign up for E-policing to get crime news delivered direct to your email inbox.
